Dear Friends,

I would like to welcome all of you to the 2009 Divine Performing Arts World Tour hosted by the North Carolina Falun Dafa Association.

We, in Chapel Hill, are honored to have the Divine Performing Arts come to Durham and celebrate and honor the traditions of China's 5,000-year civilization. The Town Council and I are proud of the Chinese community and the residents in Chapel Hill. We are particularly aware and appreciate of the many contributions of Chinese and Chinese-Americans in our town and in the larger area.

I would also like to take this opportunity to congratulate Mayor Bell and City Council members on the opening of the new performing arts center. This program was made possible through the careful planning and vision that you have turned into a reality. So I congratulate you on the vision you have seen, and the future you have created for one of my favorite places: Durham.

I also congratulate the North Carolina Falun Dafa Association for hosting such an important and exciting event in the Triangle. I am confident that this program will be an enormous success and I wish you all the very best.
